People Watch Two

It was November 2nd and i was out at Siglap park where i saw my next target for my People Watch aka Stalking assignment. My target was this guy who seemed to be having post Halloween syndrome. Maybe his calendar was outdated and Halloween was just beginning for him. Either that or he had to be a punk or Goth. Call it stereotyping but he had to be. No one in his or her right mind would wear this as casually as he as wearing it. It had to be one of these reasons.Oh wait i just thought of one, that maybe he lost a bet.Whatever the case, he’s unusual sense of style came to use for this assignment. Now onto my subject:

Hello Mr Goth
He had Fathomless dark green eyes and olive-complected skin. His eyes were highlighted by thick eyeliner, making the green in his eyes look even deeper, almost like a glowing emerald stone. His sandy blond streaked hair was haphazardly combed and seemed to have a life of their own as they stuck out in bits and pieces. He was wearing a long black coat that billowed against his knees as he walked around.Three metal chains of different lengths were worn around his neck. His pendants were the most intriguing and eye-catching.

Sitting across from him at the park bench I was able to see them as they sparkle away at night with the help of the light reflecting of them. One of them was a pentacle, a star shaped geometric figure with five points. The other was some Hebrew-like scripted word.He wore mismatched socks that were oddly one red and the other grey,so they stood out like a sore thumb from his outfit.

He was adorned with jewellery.Adorned is the only way to describe it. Besides those metal chains, he wore silver rings and bands. They were all silver and similar in design to his eyebrow piercing.

I believe he has some compulsive behaviour as he seemed to re-tie the shoelaces of his red and black converse shoes more than eights times while he was there, never satisfied until he had a perfect bow.He then helped to tie a small kid’s shoelaces as well.I assumed the kid was his younger brother or someone under his care. His gentle behaviour with the kid was rather unbecoming of his rather contradictory appearance.

It made me wonder whether he had OCD.For those of you would be going huh right about now that stands or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I was pretty sure that had i worn shoes that day he might have come over and helped me tie mine as well. ***
Soon he started strumming his guitar that was hung around his neck. This guitar was slightly different from the others as it looked modified. It had been spray painted black and had some graffiti on it.I had expected a dreadful din to come out from it, given his appearance but it was completely the opposite. It was some soft strumming and singing almost melodious. The words I could not hear, I could only try and lip-read. However it was cut short as he noticed me staring at him and he reacted all funny. He suddenly straightened up and left the place.

That was the end of my observation, the tune of his song lingered through the night as it mingled with the shrills of the crickets.

*** P.s i went to the park again and i saw the same guy and he was tying his shoelaces again, thus i am pretty much sure of my theory of him having OCD.

Yes ok i have to think a name and an address for him now .Its part of my assignment. This fella is going to be hard to name i could not even tell what race he was. However i am pretty sure he lived in one of those private houses in Siglap as i saw him walk off towards Palm Avenue.

Name,name name…. what’s in a name?

ok i got it i think his name is Alexandre Randell Deveraux….Ah such a complex name for a complex person. He had to be complex right? i mean tying your shoelaces 8 times until its a perfect bow?Its no easy task.

Alexandre Randell Deveraux….He’s French? I guess I had never assumed it was a white guy you were looking at. I don’t know why I immediately assumed he was local. I guess those are my prejudices.
